Service Manager

The Service Manager will be responsible for the complete operation of the Service Department. The Service Manager must work with the Fixed Operations Manager to strive to grow the department and make necessary decisions to maintain a profitable Service Department. The Service Manager will direct, and coordinate activities concerned with repair and maintenance of diesel engine vehicles, and operation and maintenance of truck service facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Updated Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performance Metrics — Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators including revenue, profitability, operational efficiency, uptime, and throughput standards for the shop.
• Customer Relationships — Build and grow a strong customer base through proactive communication and consistent follow‑through.
• Customer Support — Respond to customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved in a way that strengthens confidence in our service.
• Workforce Planning — Plan and prepare work schedules, assign employees to duties, and adjust staffing to meet operational demands.
• Policy Communication — Communicate policies, procedures, and department goals clearly to ensure alignment and accountability across the team.
• Employee Development — Partner with the Training Department to build employee skills, competencies, and readiness for evolving service needs.
• Safety Compliance — Assure full compliance with safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
• Professional Representation — Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with employees and customers, representing the Company’s values and expectations.
• Service Growth — Develop and implement a service growth plan and budget that supports long‑term operational success and customer satisfaction.

Education, Skills and Knowledge

Required:

• Previous supervisory experience in Truck Service a must.
• Experience with Proceed strongly encouraged
• Highly effective verbal and written communication.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
• Valid Driver’s License
