Job Description
Join our team as a Production Associate where you will be integral to the EDM production process. You will be responsible for changing out wire heads and ensuring machines are kept loaded with blanks. Additionally, setting plates in the machine, maintaining accurate part IDs, and logging all preventative maintenance will be part of your daily tasks. This role provides an opportunity to learn and train on other machine operations to become a designated CNC operator.
Responsibilities- Assist in the EDM production process.
- Change out wire heads using basic hand tools and instructions.
- Keep machines loaded with blanks and set plates in machines (requires lifting up to 60 lbs).
- Ensure the computer is loaded with correct programs and log all preventative maintenance.
- Utilize indicators, calipers, and micrometers to check dimensional parameters of parts and tooling.
- Maintain a tolerance of plus or minus one thousandth of an inch on most parts.
- Train on other machine operations to become a designated CNC operator after the contract period.
- Mechanical aptitude related to machine/tooling setup and maintenance.
- Ability to operate a computer to ensure correct programs are loaded and maintenance is logged.
- Experience with CNC operation and setup, including offsets, tool changes, and program edits.
- Familiarity with Haas and Hurco 3/5 axis mills, Prototrak with live tooling, Mitsubishi EDMs.
- Knowledge of G code, water jet, and live tooling.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with specific CNCs such as Haas and Hurco 3/5 axis mills.
- Direct experience with offsets, tool changes, and program edits on CNCs.
- Faster growth potential with direct experience in CNC operations.

Work EnvironmentWork within a clean and climate-controlled shop on the 1st shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some additional hours on Saturdays, resulting in 45-50 hour work weeks. Flexibility is available if needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.
