Job Description & How to Apply Below
Are you a relentless problem-solver who thrives in high-stakes environments where a fraction of a millimeter is the difference between success and failure?
Norwood Medical is a leader in high-precision medical component manufacturing. We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to lead our production facility. You will be the heartbeat of our manufacturing floor, overseeing everything from CNC throughput to quality compliance in an ISO 13485 environment. Your mission: drive operational excellence, mentor a skilled technical team, and ensure we deliver life-saving components to our global partners on time, every time.
As the Operations Manager, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and shop-floor execution.
- Oversee daily operations of the precision machining department (Swiss-style lathes, 5-axis milling, EDM).
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce scrap rates.
- Maintain strict adherence to ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 standards, ensuring all documentation and processes are audit-ready.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Machinists, Programmers, and Production Supervisors.
- Manage P&L responsibilities, labor costs, and capital equipment ROI analysis for new technology acquisitions.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure raw material availability and seamless shipping schedules.
We aren't just looking for a manager; we're looking for a technical leader who understands the nuances of the medical tier-one supply chain.
- 7+ years in manufacturing management, specifically withinprecision machining (CNC) and medical device manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of metallurgy, tight-tolerance machining and validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred).
- A "firm but fair" leadership style with the ability to communicate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision-making.
