Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and turning equipment, including HAAS 3-axis mills and Samsung CNC lathe with live tooling.
- Write, read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam and/or directly at the machine control.
- Perform machine setup including aligning, securing, and adjusting cutting tools for each job.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct in-process and final inspection of machined parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues including tooling, fixturing, feeds, speeds, and program errors.
- Operate the Patriot bar feeder system in conjunction with lathe operations.
- Manage production runs across low-to-medium volume and one-off custom part jobs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with shop safety standards.
- Provide leadership guidance and support to junior machinists as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on machine shop experience.
- Proficiency in Mastercam CAM software and/or conversational/G-code programming directly at the machine.
- Experience operating HAAS vertical machining centers (3‑axis mills).
- Experience with CNC lathe operation; live tooling experience a plus.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of tooling selection, speeds and feeds, work-holding, and fixturing.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part tolerances.
- Safety-conscious with a consistent record of maintaining a clean, hazard‑free work area.
- Leadership qualities and willingness to mentor or guide other team members a plus.
- Salary: $28 - $32 per hour.
- Competitive compensation plus bi‑annual bonuses (salary commensurate with experience).
