Position Overview
Woolpert is hiring an Aerial Sensor Operator in our Dayton office. This position reports to the Geospatial Team Leader and is responsible for sensor operation and reporting for airborne mapping missions. Must be willing to travel on a rotating schedule: 21 days on, 14 days off, with domestic and international travel required. This role does not provide visa sponsorship; applicants must already possess work authorization in the U.S.
What You Will Do- Participate in ground and flight operations efforts (mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety).
- Ensure proper collection of data for accuracy and quality.
- Understand the collection of tactical and wide area mapping.
- Comply with all governing regulations and work in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Download, edit, and troubleshoot collected sensor data while in the field. Set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning.
- High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. or two (2) years of related experience, degree in GIS, geography, or related discipline preferred.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- Ability and willingness to travel, moderate to high (domestic and possibly international).
- Preferred knowledge of ESRI software, ArcGIS, Leica Flight Pro, Terra Solid.
- Preferred experience operating Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, and DMC.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Above average Microsoft Office suite skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
- Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes and internal initiatives.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
