We are seeking a skilled professional to join a premier contract manufacturer in Dayton, Ohio, specializing exclusively in the medical device industry. This organization supports high-stakes markets such as robotic‑assisted surgery and orthopedics within a clean, climate-controlled facility. We are looking for an individual with a “Tool Maker” mindset—someone who understands the complex interactions between machines, heat, and tooling to produce critical medical components.

- Precision Manufacturing:
Manage the precision coining process from initial setup through to final inspection. - Grinding & Milling:
Set up and operate surface grinders for coin punches and precision components while maintaining incredibly tight tolerances. - CNC Operation:
Handle setups, tool changes, and touch‑offs on high‑speed vertical CNC mills, specifically Brothers/Robodrill machines. - Quality Inspection:
Perform independent in‑process and final inspections using micrometers, indicators, and comparators to ensure quality ownership. - Precision Finishing:
Polish parts to meet both cosmetic and functional specifications without compromising critical sharp edges. - Team
Collaboration:
Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve Lean/5S standards.
Working hours:
5:15 AM - 5:30 PM
- Equipment Familiarity:
Comfort and experience with Brothers CNC mills or similar high‑speed equipment. - Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Operational Mindset: A strong commitment to craftsmanship and a “do it right the first time” approach.

High School
Experience:
1-4 years
- Experience:
A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Tool Maker or Precision Machinist. - Technical Proficiency:
Strong, required experience with surface grinders. - Precision Standards:
Proven ability to consistently hold tight tolerances, such as ±0.0001. - Tooling Literacy:
Proficiency in reading prints, using precision gauges/comparators, and handling light polishing.
