  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across a group of 10–20 modelers, including leading regular working sessions, peer reviews, and training workshops.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for modeling issues, ensuring technical challenges are addressed efficiently.
  • Work closely with systems engineering leadership to align team outputs with program and enterprise-level modeling strategies.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in modeling practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the definition and enforcement of modeling governance processes and tool usage guidelines.
  • Establish plans for transitioning to SysML 2.0.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related technical field.
  • 10 years experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo/Magic Draw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, or Capella.
  • Proven track record with 5+ years experience mentoring, training, or leading junior engineers or modelers.
  • Deep understanding of SysML, UAF, DoDAF, and MBSE standards/frameworks.
  • Experience developing and implementing Government Reference Architectures (GRA’s).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a large team of modelers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting best practices and conducting knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with tactical support for junior modelers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enterprise-level MBSE adoption or transformation initiatives.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or other complex system-of-systems environments.
  • 5 years experience integrating MBSE models with digital engineering ecosystems (simulation, digital twins, data platforms).
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing a community of practice around MBSE.
  • Experience creating a repository of best practices and example models.
  • Active Security Clearance.
