Position: Chemical Operator II - Day

Job Summary

The Chemical Operator II performs advanced production and material‑handling activities and is fully qualified to execute all duties of a Chemical Operator I. This role follows manufacturing instructions to safely operate equipment, produce and package materials, and support shipping activities to ensure accurate, on‑time production.

Job Description

Responsible for following manufacturing instructions to perform production and shipping related duties to ensure on‑time production and shipment of product while adhering to high standards of quality, safety and customer service. Monday – Friday 7a – 4p.

Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment in a manner consistent with training and work instructions to ensure safety and the highest level of product quality.
  • Prepare mixing vessels, necessary pumps and hoses for unloading.
  • Inspect all containers prior to filling for cleanliness and integrity.
  • Operate process control systems including PLCs, mass flow meters, pumps and scales.
  • Fill containers as prescribed in the batch ticket, pick ticket, or export order sheet and prepare containers for shipment including labelling, palletizing, wrapping, and completing work orders in JDE.
  • Maintain neat, thorough and correct completion of all batch related documentation.
  • Calculate batch yields and respond appropriately.
  • Store and stage inventory in assigned areas for batch preparation, further processing and/or shipping.
  • Assist in tracking material inventory, performing inventory counts, and make inventory transfers in JDE.
  • Load and unload box trucks, flat‑beds, tanker trucks, and rail cars, manually or using proper material handling equipment.
  • Load containerized and bulk raw materials to production vessels.
  • Complete shipping responsibilities: receive PO’s in JDE, ship items in JDE, communicate late shipments to OTC group, prepare UPS and Fed Ex shipments and call trucks for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and strictly adhere to all plant safety policies.
  • Provide immediate containment, reporting and clean‑up/recovery of spilled material or leaks.
  • Operate all types of forklifts and other related motorized vehicles safely and proficiently.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety and quality procedures.
  • Routinely participate in the site safety committee.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum number of years of relevant experience: 3–5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must meet all Chemical Operator I competencies and qualifications.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret batch sheets, SOPs and work instructions.
  • Positive team‑oriented attitude, reliable attendance.
  • Basic mathematical skills; precise and accurate in handling figures and details.
  • Demonstrated commitment to organizational goals and objectives.
  • Consistent achievement of defined controllable “right first time” goals.
  • Ability to provide direction to less experienced team members.
