ABOUT
THE ROLE Martin Palmer Tool is a precision machining shop serving aerospace, automotive, defense, and industrial customers across the region. We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our floor team — someone who takes pride in tight tolerances, owns their machine, and helps us maintain the quality reputation we have built over the decades. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes (Mazak, Milltronics, Hurco controls)
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and engineering drawings
• Select tooling, set offsets, and make in-process adjustments to hold tolerance
• Perform first-article and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and CMM
• Document work per quality procedures and maintain accurate job travelers
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues promptly
• Collaborate with programmers and engineers to improve cycle times and methods QUALIFICATIONS Requirements
• 3+ years CNC machining experience
• Proficient with manual and CNC setups
• Strong blueprint reading & GD&T skills
• Experience with precision measurement tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred
• Fusion 360 or similar CAM software
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 shop experience
• Trade school / apprenticeship credential
• Aerospace or defense parts background
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Starting Pay: $22 – $32/hr. (commensurate with experience) Overtime paid after 8 hours. Pay reviewed at 90 days. Direct hire — not a temp position.
