CNC Machinist; West of I​/Interchange

Ahaus Tool & Engineering is located 38 minutes west of the I-70/I-75 Interchange in Richmond, Indiana.

Advanced Level CNC Machinist – tool shop, Richmond, Indiana. This position may require first shift or, after training, may shift to second shift.

Set up and operate Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machining centers to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts.

• Strong understanding of precision machining
• Self‑starter, able to work with little to no supervision
• Writes simple CNC programs at the machine and troubleshoots programs
• Performs in‑process quality inspections and adjusts the machine when needed
• Performs machine setups as required
• Collaborates with engineers, lead toolmakers, programmers, and other team members to resolve machining challenges
• Interprets blueprints with knowledge of dimensional tolerances and GD&T
• Performs basic machine maintenance

• Vocational education and/or at least 3 years in a job shop or non‑production environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborator who works well with team members across all departments
• General computer and software navigation skills
• Other duties may be assigned

• Typical manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to higher levels of noise, dust, debris, and chemicals
• Standard physical hazards from moving equipment & machine parts
• May be required to climb stairs and ladders
• Must be able to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds
