Location:

Dayton, OH

Salary: $80,000.00 per year

Day Shift

Responsibilities
  • Review blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to develop accurate project estimates and quotations.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication, raw materials, labor, and manufactured components.
  • Generate customer quotes and pricing proposals while ensuring profitability and competitive market pricing.
  • Source, purchase, and negotiate pricing for steel, metals, materials, parts, and production supplies.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and compare vendor quotes to secure the best value, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding project requirements, pricing, and order status.
  • Track purchase orders, material deliveries, inventory levels, and lead times to support production schedules.
  • Assist with production planning, scheduling, and material availability to ensure on‑time project completion.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, estimating, and inventory records using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Analyze costs, identify savings opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in estimating, purchasing, procurement, manufacturing, steel fabrication, or metal fabrication environments is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and vendor relationships in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
