Systems Engineer and Architect (Pending Contract Award)

OverviewWe are building a talent pipeline in support of an upcoming contract proposal to provide advisory and assistance services to Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) mission areas including engineering, analysis, information technology and cyber security, with anticipated work beginning in September 2026. This position will support NASIC’s production of technical intelligence;
modernize capabilities; support intelligence community collaboration and Department of War (DoW) mission needs.
Work will be performed on-site at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH pending award.
Required Qualifications- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret or TS/SCI depending on role)
- Strong background directly aligned with the technical or analytical specialty area
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills
- For some roles, advanced degrees (MS/PhD) are preferred
- Experience supporting DoW, interagency, or national security missions is highly desirable
- Experience with in the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) community.
Systems Engineer provides end-to-end systems engineering and architecture support to enable well-managed, coherent, secure, and low-risk technical solutions and effective program execution across enterprise environments. This role supports digital transformation initiatives in classified, hybrid cloud ecosystems and drives capabilities integration.
Responsibilities include planning, developing, and managing systems engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture design, integration, test & evaluation, milestones, cost, schedule, and contract strategy. The engineer develops and implements value-added workflows and data pipelines across complex, large-scale datasets spanning enterprise, DoD, IC, and partner environments to accelerate mission and analytical outcomes.
The Systems Engineer leads cross-functional programs guiding the application of hardware, software, data, and policy to modernize and adapt legacy systems for operation in multi-level, classified hybrid cloud environments. This includes designing and implementing scalable architectures and governing frameworks that support digital transformation and enterprise capability delivery.
Desired Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, architecture, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, and test
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools
- Proficiency in designing and implementing enterprise architectures and hybrid cloud solutions, including legacy system integration
- Experience developing or supporting IA/AI/ML or data-driven solutions, including workflow automation and large dataset processing
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design;
Java or equivalent experience preferred - Familiarity with data engineering, analytics pipelines, or large-scale data environments
- Knowledge of system test and evaluation processes and quality assurance practices
- Understanding of hardware/software integration, testing, and debugging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently, on teams, and in matrixed environments
- Proven ability to manage priorities, take initiative, resolve conflicts, and support complex program execution
