What You’ll Be Doing:The purpose of the Cable & Harness Operator is to:
1) Assemble cable/harness assemblies, subassemblies, products or systems per military or m anufacturing specifications;
2) Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals; and
3) Follow company policy and procedure ensuring a safe, respectful workplace.
- Builds assemblies from oral and/or written work instructions and within established shop floor guidelines.
- Strips, crimps, solders, screws, bolts, tack welds, or similar operations to secure parts.
- Execute pull test on wire or cable as required.
- Positions and aligns parts in a specified relationship to each other in a jig, fixture, or other holding device.
- Routes wires per drawing or fixture defined in assembly work instructions.
- Assembles and attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies.
- Perform over-braiding on harnesses and cable assemblies.
- Completes intermediate assemble tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy-bonding, curing, stamping ad etching .
- Maintains a clean, safe work environment free of FOD.
- Receives, verifies and process parts for assemblies by identifying specific part numbers.
- Enter information on production records, logs, and other reports as needed.
- Diagnose, document and repair defects on incoming RMA cable and WIA assemblies.
High school diploma or GED required.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience- 1- 3 years manufacturing assembly experience and/or technical school background.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret length measuring tools.
- Experience with schematics and blueprints.
- Current or previous certifications in IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-Std preferred. Certifications must be obtained after hire.
Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock .
