People walk through CLC's doors at every point in their spiritual journey: first-time guests, brand-new believers, and longtime followers of Christ looking for their next step. The Next Steps Director exists to make sure every one of them has a clear, well-led path forward.
You'll oversee our Next Steps ministries, including our Vision Team, Care, Groups, and Celebrate Recovery, casting vision for the discipleship process and building the team of leaders who carry it out. You’ll lead alongside the Next Steps Pastoral staff, building a strong team of leaders and volunteers who are equipped, empowered, and ready to carry the ministry forward.
Success in this role looks like people consistently finding their next step, leaders confidently owning the ministry, and the Next Steps team moving together with clarity, health, and purpose.
What You'll DoDay to day, you'll:
- Lead the Next Steps team to stay focused, aligned, and accountable to one another
- Recruit, train, motivate, and care for healthy, high-capacity volunteers, and lead your team to do the same in their own areas
- Foster unity and spiritual growth across our teams and congregation through groups and other relevant ministry opportunities
- Partner with the team to build an intentional path of discipleship and relationship for every guest, new believer, and seasoned congregant
- Lead the team's accountability for the new believer process, including salvation decisions, water baptisms, and ongoing engagement
- Monitor annual department budgets and practice sound financial stewardship
- Serve on the Lead Team, the On-Call team, and as a Teacher/Presenter
- 3-5 years of experience cultivating and moving people through a defined process
- 3-5 years of teaching or presenting experience
- Demonstrated gifts of leadership, administration, and teaching
- A proven track record of recruiting, training, and developing lay leaders
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- A genuine heart and passion for people's spiritual growth
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Planning Center, and similar database platforms (Ministry Platform experience a plus)
- An active, growing faith and involvement in serving at CLC
- Alignment with CLC's mission and values, and a willingness to support the vision even on the days you'd have done it differently
- Schedule is Mon-Wed;
