Position: Hospice Nurse (After Hours)

Hospice Nurse (Nights)

LPN Salary: $31.25-$34.13/hr BOE. RN Salary: $38.46-$42.79/hr BOE.

Schedule:

Full-time, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 8 PM–8 AM.

Location:

Kettering, Ohio, and the surrounding area.

Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in skilled nursing.
  • Hospice experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage.
  • Reliable transportation; willing to travel.
Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing care to patients at end‑of‑life, conducting visits in facilities and/or home patients.
  • Provide on‑call services after hours and complete scheduled skilled visits.
  • Respond to phone calls from patients and families regarding symptoms, changes in condition, or emergencies.
  • Conduct home or facility visits to assess patients with critical symptoms such as pain management, respiratory distress, or emotional crisis.
  • Assist RNCM in carrying out the plan of care.
  • Assist the nursing team in performing specialized procedures as defined in the state nurse practice act, under RNCM direction and physician orders.
  • Actively participate in the IDGH to ensure the patient plan of care is kept current and identified issues are addressed.
  • Assist in reinforcing patient and family education regarding end‑of‑life care.
  • Assume responsibility for personal and vocational growth through participation in nursing organizations, in‑service programs, and other on‑the‑job learning.
  • Keep the RNCM informed of changes noted during the process.
  • Participate in self‑development by practicing further education, workshops, conferences, and active participation in professional meetings and research.
  • Assist with emergent visits including continuous care (CC) and companion care as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
