Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Bonus: $40k sign on for 2 years-new to PH-must stay on nights for 2 years to get full bonus

Experienced RNs: ED or ICU experience is preferred. If RN is coming from a Med/Surg capacity, must have 3 years of experience. If coming from an Advanced Care capacity, 1-2 years of experience.

No new grad RNs or Transition Fellow.

• 73 beds

• 6 beds consider rapid treatment section (RTS) for lower acuity (Urgent Care type of pts). This area is staffed by 1 RN due to the lower acuity

• Only Level 1 Trauma Center in the region

• Teaching facility

• Most critical patients in the area

• RN Ratio: 1:3 or 1:4 max depending on assignment

• Number of visits close to 85k visits last year

• Great way to increase skill sets, improve critical nursing skills

• As a Level 1 Trauma Center, the ED has a ton of resources: EKG techs, ED techs, other clinicians at finger tips:
  Doctors, Respiratory Therapists, Medical Imaging, etc.

• If Boarding patients, the ED brings inpatient nurses in to help so that the ED nurses are not caring for them as well.

• Great culture that has been developed over the past couple of years

• Want team player who cares about their peers/when critical patient comes through door can rely on each other to provide excellent care

• Best ER physician group-MVES-same physicians
  -the group rotates around the system-the physicians are on the floor and willing to answer questions-great resources and provide education, open to suggestions, listen to nursing staff and love to teach the staff.

• Dept has multiple levels of leadership
  - Clinical Nurse Managers, Associate Nurse Managers and Dept Manager. Leadership available 24/7.

• Flexibility and a lot of team collaboration

• Internal equity is very important to the Leadership Team so they will not negotiate on pay.
