Registered Nurse - Long Term Care Unit
Targeted patient ratios are 1:7. Unit consists of 20-21 beds. Patients require less acute care, hence the reasoning for higher patient ratios. More of a "nursing home" setting. No telemetry monitoring, no blood products, no Bipap if it's not long term.
For 48-hour contracts, overtime is paid out after 48 hours. Must have the following requirements:
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- BLS - must be able to read and interpret strips
- Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed
- 1.5 years exp, exp in a level 1 or 2 preferred
- Travel experience preferred EPIC EXP REQUIRED
Unit may participate in team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients. The goal of this model is to divide the work and not the patients, ultimately improving both the workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the needs of the unit.
Floating and Other Requirements:
- Traveler will be first to float at Premier's discretion. Agency will float in/out of specialty clusters.
- It will be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to, including high-risk respiratory unit/COVID.
- If assigned to MVH, this could include floating main campus (Dayton) south campus (Centerville) less than 10 miles from Main Campus and North Campus (Englewood) less than 15 miles from Main Campus.
- Traveler must be available to work every other weekend/holiday.
- Premier Health reserves the right to cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract.
- Premier Health reserves the right to cancel agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine.
- Travelers are not eligible for Premier health employee incentives.
Unit Details: 20-21 beds These are long length of stay patients who have been transferred to this unit as they are waiting on guardianship, placement, insurance pending, etc. These patients:
- Do not meet criteria for inpatient admission or observation
- Require a custodial level of care, and
- Are unable to be discharged from the ED for safety reasons.
Navy Blue Scrubs RTO Request RTO with initial submittal; NO RTO will be added after the offer. RTO approval will be at the Manager's discretion. Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report, and other certs are not needed if listed on the application.
