Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

This position requires experience in a Step Down or Progressive Care Unit. Candidates must demonstrate a patient ratio experience of 1:5. ICU experience is not applicable for consideration for this role. Nurses may work in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on unit needs. Team-based nursing focuses on dividing work instead of patients to improve care. Targeted patient ratios are typically 1:4 but can range up to 1:5 or 1:6.

Passing an online EKG telemetry competency assessment is mandatory. Nurses will require BLS and ACLS certifications with the ability to read and interpret cardiac strips. Candidates must have experience managing ventilators. Nurses will be fitted for an N95 mask unless a PAPR is provided as required. Candidates should expect to float to different units based on operational needs. Availability for weekend and holiday shifts is required.

Travelers may be first to float, supporting nursing care teams where assigned. The patient population will include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, diabetic keto acidosis, and post-COVID patients. Support for complex needs such as tracheostomy, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-oxygen requirements will be provided by respiratory therapists. Administration of insulin and heparin drips may be necessary in patient care. Navy blue scrubs will be the standard uniform.

No requests for time off will be considered after the job offer is made. Candidates must be comfortable with floating assignments and have no special requests or restrictions.
