Description:
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Travellers may float to other units based on skill sets and census. Potential to float to other hospitals nearby. Must be comfortable floating without restrictions or special requests. Candidates may be assigned to medically appropriate assignments or to support the nursing care team of the unit floated to.
Travel experience is preferred. Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted. Maximum of 14 days of requested time off may be allowed per contract. No schedule requests or time off will be negotiated after an offer is made. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census averages 23 patients. Patients may present with chronic illnesses, respiratory issues, and other conditions requiring intermediate care.
Skills required include managing and caring for various medical equipment and procedures. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in telemetry, care of ventilated patients, and central line management.
