Introduction
We are searching for a Statistical and Psychology Research Professional to provide support for our government customer in Dayton, OH, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The position is fully remote within the Continental United States with some need for periodic travel.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive study protocol, including hypothesis, methodologies, collection strategies, and overall statistical analysis of study data in consultation with USAFSAM/FESP professional staff.
- Provide customer leadership with a relevant scientific literature review and data analyses, and participate in related discussions with USAFSAM/FESP staff.
- Confer with and advise USAFSAM/FESP professional staff regarding optimal statistical approaches to analyze study data.
- Perform statistical analyses of study data using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures.
- Minimize threats to the validity of statistical products or online data repositories and maintain data securely in compliance with IRB protocol and safeguards.
- Maintain confidentiality of screening data, contents of technical reports, and presentation of sensitive data not releasable to the general public.
- Complete IRB paperwork and training requirements for conducting research.
- Prepare reports of scientific/statistical results in support of scientific literature publication, in coordination with USAFSAM/FESP and 711 HPW staff; the number of presentations, reports, and papers shall be verified based upon the relevance of research findings.
- Travel as needed to provide professional support, customer consultations, and research presentations at line leadership meetings and professional conferences.
- Maintain communications with project personnel facilitating teamwork; adhere to strict confidentiality and classification requirements in all forms of communication.
- Be responsible for data management and coordinate processes with project team members, including acquisition, input, maintenance, electronic format products, and storage of all project data; assist staff in collecting assessment data and downloading into the project database.
- Provide project operations support, including assistance with USAFSAM/FES research activities and acquisition of data in support of project goals and objectives.
- Arrange, facilitate and participate in research team meetings (including leading a weekly meeting) to ensure effective communication between team members and achievement of research goals.
- When research capabilities are interrupted or workload reduced, support additional USAFSAM/FESP related investigations as required.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree specializing in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline.
- Doctoral degree (or Master’s degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience) in a related discipline is desired.
- Certification in administering psychological assessments (e.g., NEO, Hogan, EQ‑i) and providing individualized feedback is desired.
- Expert knowledge and at least 5 years of experience in database development, gathering and organizing data supporting analyses for a wide range of analytical procedures, research report writing, and developing actionable recommendations for improving human performance.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and conducting statistical data analysis using software such as JMP, SPSS, R, etc.
- At least 5 years experience developing products presenting research outcomes, including professional presentations, peer‑reviewed publications, and/or technical reports.
- At least 5 years of experience in administrative management related to study design, methodology, and dissemination of results regarding empirically based human performance studies.
- Willingness and ability to sign a Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information.
