Role OverviewThe Team Manager, Sales is responsible for recruiting, developing and leading a team of sales representatives to achieve or exceed district sales goals. The manager drives course and program adoption decisions at institutions of higher education, manages account strategies, collaborates with enterprise account executives, and oversees financial and business analytics.
Key Responsibilities- Set strategic vision for the district and implement sales plans.
- Drive revenue growth in current and future business models, delivering customer value and learner progression.
- Leverage data to prioritize territory focus.
- Deploy Marketing and Product team support to specific accounts.
- Recruit and hire sales representatives.
- Set territory goals, monitor KPIs, and manage performance through coaching and success plans.
- Train on planning, territory management, and selling skills; provide developmental coaching.
- Reinforce use of OneCRM, sales tools, and Customer Success Reps.
- Represent Pearson’s product and service suite, co‑creating solutions to drive revenue growth.
- Involve Pearson resources to win market share and maximize monetization in key adoption situations.
- Manage district‑level budgets.
- Contribute to assigned national task forces.
- Meet or exceed targets in subscription‑based sales.
- Achieve target in market share growth.
- Retain talent.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of exceptional sales performance in the higher education market.
- Record of informal and/or formal leadership and ability to build and motivate a team.
- Strong value articulation skills and data‑presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in data analytics, financial & business reporting for data‑informed decisions.
- Collaboration skills to benefit the customer and Pearson.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, Sales Reporting, and light project‑management tools.
- Achievement‑driven with determination to achieve results.
- Motivated by coaching others to win.
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence and self‑awareness.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and maintain them through professional empathy.

Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000. This position is eligible to participate in Pearson’s sales incentive plan. Benefits information can be found here.
