Job title: Inside Sales Support

Work Location: Pella of Dayton – Kettering Location

Position Overview

The Inside Sales Consultant role is designed to support the outside Trade and Commercial Sales team with backend processes. It requires learning and understanding the Pella product offering, quoting system and CRM database, print reading, and occasional interaction with builders, contractors and homeowners. The Inside Sales Support role supports the sales team by tracking activity, working on quotes, territory research, cold calling, ensuring the CRM is consistently updated, verifying orders, and gaining hands‑on experience with each department within the branch to learn the processes they are supporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong customer relations.
  • Assist in blueprint reading.
  • Support Sales team using PQM and CRM to generate quotes and track customer interactions.
  • Attend Pella Sales Training and any local workshops as they become available.
  • Represent Pella at company‑sponsored events, professional group invitations to discuss and/or present Pella products, trade association meetings and/or builder home shows.
  • Acquire in‑depth knowledge of Pella’s offering and competitive landscape.
  • Develop an understanding of and adhere to the Trade Selling Process in all sales‑related interactions.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure successful after‑sale service requirements.
  • Cold call/prospect new business.
  • Collaborate with accounting to maintain customers.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.

A.) from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual’s motor vehicle record must comply with company requirements. Must manage multiple tasks in an environment of constant interruptions and prioritize responsibilities.

Language and Communication Skills

Ability to read and analyze documents related to contracts and work documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and the general public.

Professional Skills

Must present a clean and neat physical appearance and strictly abide by company dress code, serving as a role model for employees, customers, and visitors.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical and arithmetic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate in administrative offices and moderate on construction sites.

Travel

The majority of travel will be local. Must be able to drive to showrooms, job sites, customer/contractor locations, and required company functions at various locations.
