Job Summary /Basic Function

Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Team Member will contribute to a multidisciplinary student team (undergraduate and graduate) working on a sponsored engineering project. The Team Member will operate under the supervision of the Team Lead and collaborate with peers to support project objectives. The project supports the organization in the design, development, and testing of engineering systems and solutions.

The Team Member will contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of assigned technical components, while also supporting any required documentation, tools, or deliverables. Responsibilities include completing assigned milestones on schedule, participating in team meetings, and contributing to technical reviews and project documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Enrollment at Wright State University (undergraduate or graduate level).
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet federal contract requirements.
  • Experience or coursework in team-based project development.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across diverse technical domains.
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
    • Scripting or programming.
    • Design and development tools relevant to the assigned engineering discipline.
    • Data analysis and modeling.
    • Testing and quality assurance methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and technical disciplines.
Essential Functions and percent of time

Project Delivery – (40%)

  • Work with fellow Team Members and Team Lead to complete project milestones.
  • Coordinate among a team of student interns (bachelor’s and master’s level) across engineering and technical disciplines.
  • Build skills as needed for project tools, methods, and processes.
  • Support skill building of fellow interns as needed.

Technical Skills & Problem Solving – (20%)

  • Contribute to the team’s understanding and implementation of technical requirements.
  • Ensure the solution is functional and well-documented, with support for future enhancements.

Coordination & Communication – (20%)

  • Coordinate with the Team Lead to clarify technical requirements, project scope, and deliverables.
  • Participate in team meetings to report progress, roadblocks, and constructively review contributions of other team members.
