Job Details
To provide maximum security possible for the hospital during normal day‑to‑day operations and during emergency situations, the armed security officer enforces the hospital’s security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and employees. The officer will act in a low‑key, professional manner consistent with the hospital’s mission and values of providing healthcare to children. Responsibilities include surveillance, infection control, and maintaining a safety‑management program that ensures a hazard‑free environment and reduces the risk of injury.
The officer must collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions, provide patient transport, maintain a valid driver’s license, and be eligible for hospital insurance coverage. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 70 lbs. The officer is required to achieve OPOTA certification within 12 months of hire, be at least 21 years old, and meet all eligibility criteria for the hospital’s insurance policy.
