Join the University of Dayton community as a Maintenance Technician and help maintain our beautiful 388-acre campus while advancing your career in a supportive, mission-driven environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our state-of-the-art academic buildings, residence halls, and recreational facilities that serve over 11,000 students and faculty members.
The key responsibilities of this role include evaluating properties and making recommendations for necessary repairs, keeping records of time and maintenance charges for each work order assigned, and making repairs to properties or replacing equipment such as stoves, refrigerators, hot water heaters, furnaces, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and roofing.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to follow detailed instruction, both oral and written, in the English language
- Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated skills
- Knowledge of all job-related tools and equipment
- Three (3) years of experience in comparable work is required
- Must be skilled in the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, and electrical
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the University, which includes maintaining a low-risk driving record
- General knowledge of appliance repairs and understanding of HVAC systems
- Basic knowledge of computers and how to use an email and internet program
