J & J Transportation is a small, family-owned company, that has been in the business for over 20 years. We have immediate openings for Semi Trailer Mechanics.
Responsibilities and qualifications- 1 year of experience in general trailer repair
- Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment
- Has a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft, 48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers including the following :
- Suspension and running gear components
- Electrical, lighting and wiring components
- Interior and floor components
- ABS system diagnosis and repair
- Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
- Welding and metal fabrication skills
- Experience with rear roll up and swing doors
- Performs service calls and on-site trailer PM services
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Basic computer skills
- Previous or current ASE certifications a plus
- Valid drivers license
- CDL A drivers license a plus
- Possess and maintains basic set of mechanics tools
