Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Entry Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Dayton, Ohio.

Video/Entry Level Technician
- Hourly Pay: $21.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus of up to $700 for each new ASE Certification obtained ($100 per certification)
- Sign On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday;
Weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift and weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of and ability to apply computer knowledge
- Some transportation maintenance experience (preferred)
- Must drive Ryder vehicles; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years)
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Performs basic vehicle maintenance
- Performs component identification and minor repairs
Performs preventive maintenance with training and support - Performs facility maintenance duties
- Perform all entry level tasks
- Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Performs other related duties as assigned
