The Role
As an Installation Technician, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended procedures and specifications.
- Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing any problems, shortages, and inefficiencies at job sites.
- Perform all work safely to prevent accidents for coworkers, contractors, customers, and the public.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Execute planned maintenance, break‑fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro‑mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
- Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low‑voltage wiring.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, end users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.
- Participate in training programs and on‑call rotations after certification and training.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds.
- 3–5 years of direct experience in door installation, storefront, glazing, doors, aluminum frames, electrical, or related industries.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21.
- Must obtain AAADM certification within six months of employment and maintain it as required.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing electro‑mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low‑voltage (120 V) wiring; access control systems a plus.
- Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
- Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.
- Hourly rate $25–35, dependent on education, experience, and skill level.
