Technician 2
The Technician 2 position typically demonstrates proficient and comprehensive knowledge of Dayton Children's Hospital building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC in addition to numerous years of experience in the skill trades field. This position typically works independently under general supervision on challenging work assignments; confers with Technician 3 and Supervisor on unique or uncommon problems; shares knowledge and expertise in effort to further develop the skillsets of teammates;
supports team decisions by following through with assigned responsibilities; interprets information, ideas and instructions; responsible for complying with a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury according to established codes, policies and procedures. This position demonstrates a strong commitment to the hospital's values; promotes a culture conductive to effective and inclusive relationships among team members;
collaborates with vendors, contractors, and with all divisions/departments of the hospital.
Education:
GED/High School diploma is required
Experience:
8+ years of maintenance or construction experience is required. Preferred:
Associates degree or Trade School degree 4+ years of DCH experience is preferred. State of Ohio Registered Apprenticeship Program, or fire protection license, or medical gas ASSE 6040 or ASSE 6010 certificate.
Department Specific Job Details:
This is a HVAC position. Prefer experience in building automation systems, air balance, air handler maintenance and chillers. Also will require ice machine maintenance.
Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, rotating weekends and holidays. Will sometimes require working off shifts.
