KEP Electric, a subsidiary of IES Residential, is currently seeking experienced Residential Electricians in Dayton, Ohio, as well as the surrounding communities of Troy and Lima, for an upcoming project in Defiance, Ohio. Position Summary

The Residential Electrician is responsible for installing electrical systems in residential construction projects in accordance with company standards, project specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC), and local regulations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and experienced in all phases of residential electrical construction, including rough‑in, trim‑out, and final installations. This position works closely with field leadership, builders, and other trades to deliver quality electrical installations on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical wiring, devices, fixtures, panels, and equipment in single‑family and multifamily residential construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, electrical layouts, and specifications.
  • Perform rough‑in, trim‑out, and final electrical installations according to project schedules.
  • Install and terminate electrical panels, breakers, switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and low‑voltage systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company quality standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, builders, inspectors, and other trades to maintain project timelines.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary corrections.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential electrical construction experience.
  • Experience in single‑family, multifamily, or production residential construction environments.
  • Experience with rough‑in, trim‑out, and final phase electrical installations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction plans.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes and residential construction practices.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and productivity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician License (as required by state or local jurisdiction).
  • Experience working in production homebuilding and multifamily construction environments.
  • Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment
  • Work performed primarily on active single‑family and multifamily residential construction sites.
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and construction‑related hazards.
  • Regular use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and power tools.
  • Work may be performed in unfinished structures, elevated areas, attics, crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms.
  • Daily travel to job sites throughout the service area.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform detailed electrical work.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions while maintaining safety standards.
