We are currently seeking a general construction craftsman for the woodshop under the Maintenance and Facilities Department.
The primary function is general maintenance of building and offices throughout the nursery and building new areas.
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.
QualificationsBasic reading, writing and math skills.
- Basic use of hand tools (hammer, wrench, and tape measure).
- Experience with powered tools such as drills, saws, air nailers.
- Experience in any form of construction including carpentry, woodworking, framing, etc.
- The ability to multi-task, follow-through and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact with a diverse workforce effectively and professionally.
- Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
- Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail and number accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
Schedule- Monday
- Friday: 7:30am to 5pm. - Saturday: 7:30am to 2:30pm.
- Additional hours as necessary.
- Must have the flexibility to work in a team environment supporting fellow craftsmen and coaches.
- Punctual.
- Willingness to learn new skills and jobs.
