Operator (Dayton, OH)
Responsible for daily work at sites in and around Ohio, including own travel arrangements and on-time start of work. Work includes operation of equipment, primarily backhoes and excavation of all types of plumbing trenches. Individual should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including our sub-contractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operates various equipment, primarily a backhoe, in a safe manner, insuring that all OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards are met or exceeded. Responsible for the excavation of all types of plumbing trenches.
- Ensures regular maintenance is conducted on all equipment such as, but not limited to, grease and checking fluids.
- Helps install equipment on jobs.
- Responsible for moving equipment from job-to-job.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 4 years experience operating a backhoe in field plumbing operations.
Job Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.
- Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
- Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
- Basic math skills.
Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Trade School a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50
- Able to perform shift work
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Special Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License
- Able to operate heavy machinery
- OSHA 10 Construction Industry
