As a Field Service Technician, you will be a critical part of our technical operations team, ensuring the optimal performance of our utility-scale solar and battery inverter systems. Your main duties will include:
Perform start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at photovoltaic plants. Ensure systems are configured and operating according to specifications.
Diagnose and repair inverter faults in the field. Replace components such as MV transformers, switch gear, electronic boards, AC/DC fuses, fans, and filters.
Conduct scheduled maintenance and updates (software/hardware). Follow safe start/stop procedures and warranty protocols.
Submit accurate daily field reports detailing work performed and time spent. Complete expense reports and maintain inventory of assigned parts.
Provide technical assistance and ensure customer satisfaction. Adhere to safety protocols and company training standards.
Maintain and care for company property including vehicle, tools, devices, and PPE. Ensure proper installation of wiring and connections (Layer 1 responsibilities).
Travel as required based on operational needs across the U.S. Be available for emergency support and 24/7 service coverage when needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Education or licenses:
Journeyman or Master's Electrician license. Associate or Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering, or related technical field. - Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years in field service, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial electrical equipment. - Technical
Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical systems and components. Experience with solar inverters (desirable), MV equipment, and power electronics. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software updates. - Certifications:
OSHA, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications preferred. - Soft Skills:
Problem-solving mindset and customer-oriented attitude. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong communication and reporting skills. - Other:
Valid driver's license. Work in outdoor environments.
