An Electrician is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, monitoring, and testing of electrical equipment. Responsible for the upkeep, operation, cleanliness, and safety of all electrical equipment associated with the infrastructure of the hospital. Ensures JCAHO requirements are completed. Repair and PM work could include fire alarm, electrical distribution, tube system, intercom, various electrical equipment, etc.
Participates in department and craft meetings and uses correct safety work habits. Must be available and onsite for all emergencies, shut downs or repairs as requested.
Demonstrates prompt and courteous services to customers and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organization. Executes independent judgment under the implied guidelines of Premier Health’s quality, customer satisfaction, positive work environment and financial stewardship goals.

High School Completion/GED - Preferred educational qualifications:
Courses of study related to Maintenance field
- Minimum Level of Experience
Required:
1-3 years’ job-related experience - Prior job title or occupational experience:
Minimum of two years working in the electrical trade - Prior specific functional responsibilities:
General construction / maintenance experience on plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC carpentry and/or mechanical systems - Preferred Experience:
Hospital Maintenance Experience
Hospital maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills- Excellent guest relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must be able to read, problem solve and use single line drawings and instruction manuals.
- Trained or able to use all standard electrical tools, test instruments and specialized tools.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and to perform mathematical skills, read, write reports, and communicate effectively.
- Must have maintenance or construction working knowledge of Electrical Systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems in order to repair items without direction from higher authority.
- Must be trained on computers and software programs relevant to Plant Operations and Engineering.
- General knowledge of healthcare related codes and standards (NFPA 101
-Life Safety Code, NFPA 70 – National Electric Code (NEC), OSHA, other National Fire Protection Association codes, The Joint Commission (TJC), etc.). - Completed course on NFPA 70-National Electric Code Preferred
