This position is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance, repair, and restoration work on buildings, facilities, equipment, and other structures to ensure their continued functionality and safety. Supports staff across all Five Rivers Metro Parks locations by assisting with projects that enhance and extend the life of park infrastructure and amenities.
Duties/Responsibilities

* Performs maintenance and repair of buildings, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, ensuring the upkeep of both interior and exterior spaces.
* Inspects and completes general repairs on equipment and vehicles, as assigned, maintaining functionality and safety.
* Coordinates with Park supervisors and the Planning team to develop scopes of work for ongoing and upcoming projects.
* Collaborates with the Outdoor Connections Department to maintain, repair, and preserve historic, reconstructed, and interpretive structures.
* Works with contractors, monitoring performance to ensure all work meets project specifications and Metro Parks' standards.
* Procures materials and supplies in accordance with Metro Parks' purchasing policies for maintenance and restoration projects.
* Operates vehicles, hand tools, and equipment used in electrical, plumbing, woodworking, and other maintenance tasks.
* Maintains records, including equipment and vehicle inspections.
* Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides service to the public by responding to questions, helping and sharing relevant information in a courteous and professional manner.
* Collaborates internally, within and across functional area boundaries, to provide information and service to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.
* Trains and works with volunteers as assigned, ensuring proper and safe use of equipment.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A combination of appropriate education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
* High school degree or GED.
* Vocational training in carpentry or skilled trades.
* Three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, structural repair, and equipment restoration.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid Drivers' License which meets Five Rivers Metro Parks' insurance carrier guidelines.

Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening test prior to employment.
