About the Role

D‑Shift Instrument/Electrician in Dayton, OH. Our Instrument / Electrician position offers a foundational manufacturing role with opportunities for career growth. From day one, you’ll earn a great wage and full benefits. Starting pay is $35.52/hr with potential to advance to $38.14/hr through our pay‑for‑skill system and a $0.85 shift differential.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, maintain, install, repair, calibrate, test, assemble, and inspect electrical installations, including pneumatic, electronic, regulating, and/or indicating instruments, equipment, and transmission and distribution systems.
  • Work with electrical construction materials, equipment components, and devices such as conductors, grounding systems, conduit systems, lighting, control devices, circuit breakers, switch gear, switches, motors, generators, transformers, and timing devices.
  • Work with instrument construction materials such as wire, pneumatic, electronic, and hydraulic components and metal, plastic, and glass materials used in connection with instrument work, and install tubing in conjunction with instrument work.
  • Use hand and power tools common to electrical and instrumentation work, including electric drills, soldering and brazing equipment, a drill press, threading equipment, power saws, and bending equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspection on alarms, alarm panels, electrical interlocks, and other electrical safety devices.
  • Work from drawings, repair, and operating instruction manuals, and written and oral instructions.
  • Follow prescribed procedures for checking and testing electrical and instrument loops before production release.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean and orderly.
  • Work with and assist other skilled tradesmen.
  • Maintain working knowledge of NFPA
    70E.
  • Assist PCS engineer in maintaining electrical schematics, loop diagrams, calibration records, and other instrumentation and electrical documentation.
Shift Schedule

Rotating D‑Shift schedule (28‑day cycle): 2 days 6 am–2 pm, 1 day 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off; 1 day 6 am–2 pm, 4 days 2 pm–10 pm, 1 day 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off; 4 days 6 am–2 pm, 2 days 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days off.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • Use of hand tools above shoulders, under ergonomically stressful conditions, and with heavy force.
  • Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment.
  • Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE).
