Job Overview

Industrial Electrical Technician - Skilled

Location: Dayton, OH

Salary: $33.58 - $39.50 per hour

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a team member in a safety‑conscious environment; comply with PJHA, observation, and all safety guidelines.
  • Work without supervision and adapt to all shifts, including holidays and weekends when required.
  • Use hand tools daily such as power tools.
  • Work from elevated areas, utilizing fall protection equipment as needed.
  • Work in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Operate and maintain industrial equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and skid loaders.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility based on workload.
  • Maintain compliance with company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize industrial powered vehicles (RTFL, forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift).
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical components and equipment: lighting, motors, inverters, soft starts, and wye‑delta systems; use schematics, math, preventive/predictive technologies, basic computer literacy, and safe electrical testing and measurement practices.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install raceway (conduit) and cable trays; install wire through raceway and cable trays to be tested by MCA; follow NECA 101 standards.
  • Perform calibration and documentation for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and analytical instrumentation; troubleshoot process control loops.
  • Achieve performance expectations defined in appraisals and employee development plans.
  • Maintain personal tools and an up‑to‑date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job; perform tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Accurately complete administrative duties: time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a State Journeyman Electrical License upon meeting state requirements.
  • Ability to obtain ISA’s CCST Level 1 Certification.
  • 5+ years of electrical and controls experience or 4+ years of education in Electronics or Industrial Electricity.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
  • Observe details at close range.
  • Control precision – quick, repeated adjustments of machine or vehicle controls.
  • Manual dexterity – quick grasp, manipulation, or assembly of objects.
  • Substantial lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Move for extended or continuous periods.
  • Ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and step stools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
  • Wear a respirator when performing duties.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • Arrange actions in specific orders or patterns according to rules.
Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and occasional extreme heat and cold. Noise levels are usually very loud.
