Position Summary (part‑time weekends)

Third Shift overnight = 11:00pm - 7:00am

Duties & Responsibilities Intake, Screening, and Crisis Response
  • Receive and respond to runaway and missing youth calls from regional dispatch, law enforcement, agencies, parents, guardians, and community members.
  • Conduct initial safety screenings to determine exigent or unusual circumstances that require immediate law enforcement response.
  • Make rapid, accurate decisions regarding safety risk and appropriate response pathway.
  • Take emergency crisis calls related to missing or returned youth and provide immediate support and guidance.
  • Provide trauma‑informed, culturally responsive communication with youth, families, and partners.
  • Speak directly with returned youth, when dispatched, outside the presence of guardians to assess safety and needs.
Law Enforcement and Community Coordination
  • Work closely with law enforcement, dispatch, and multidisciplinary partners to ensure timely response to missing and returned youth.
  • Communicate directly with regional dispatch and law enforcement when exigent circumstances are identified.
  • Assist with follow‑up documentation and coordination when patrol or detectives complete original reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case reviews as assigned.
  • Communicate with out‑of‑home placement providers, juvenile justice, child welfare, and community agencies regarding runaway reports.
Documentation and Data Entry
  • Complete intake, prescreening, and safety assessment forms for every runaway or missing youth report.
  • Enter and update information in multiple systems, including law enforcement record systems, Daybreak systems, and grant‑required databases.
  • Upload and manage required documentation, photos, and releases of information.
  • Complete supplemental and closing reports when youth are located or cases are resolved.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in compliance with grant, agency, and law enforcement standards.
Outreach and Location Support
  • Conduct social media searches and online monitoring to assist in locating missing youth, when appropriate.
  • Manage social media response pages related to runaway and missing youth alerts as assigned.
  • Gather and document information related to youth’s friends, associates, hangout locations, and online presence.
  • Support outreach staff by providing detailed intake information for follow‑up services.
Client Support and Service Connection
  • Work directly with youth and families to identify immediate needs and connect them to appropriate services.
  • Provide basic crisis support, safety planning, and referrals.
  • Assist families with understanding next steps when youth have multiple runaway incidents.
  • Support reunification and stabilization efforts when youth return.
Compliance and Grant Responsibilities
  • Follow RONI Project policies, procedures, and workflow requirements.
  • Adhere to all grant requirements, reporting timelines, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy laws.
  • Participate in required trainings related to trauma, human trafficking, crisis response, and missing youth.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED required, associates degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with youth and young adults is required, those experiencing homelessness or housing instability preferred.
