Software Engineer
Overview
The Senior Software Developer will lead teams developing state-of-the-art military aircraft simulations. The work will involve mentoring junior developers and engineers, prioritizing and assigning tasks, performing code reviews to enforce JFTI and project-specific coding standards, ensuring software is properly tested, and providing direct assistance to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities- Lead development teams on state-of-the-art military aircraft simulations.
- Mentor junior developers and engineers; prioritize and assign tasks.
- Perform code reviews to enforce JFTI and project-specific coding standards.
- Ensure software is properly tested; support customers globally.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on real-time simulation, embedded systems, or high-performance computing.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing simulation models, particularly in military or aerospace domains (aircraft systems, avionics, or flight dynamics).
- Hands-on experience in C/C++, including modern versions of the languages (C++11/14/17), for performance-critical and large-scale systems.
- Strong background in simulation frameworks (e.g., DIS, HLA, or proprietary military simulation protocols).
- Familiarity with physics-based modeling, including aerodynamic models, control systems, and sensor simulations (radar, GPS, etc.).
- Experience with software version control tools such as Git.
- Experience with real-time 3D graphics and visualization tools (OpenGL, Direct
X, or proprietary tools). - Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in defense systems, especially for mission-critical software and simulations.
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments.
- Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Flight Gear, JSBSim, or other flight simulators.
- Solid understanding of multithreading for high-concurrency applications.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and integrate software for flight control systems, mission planning, or weapon simulation.
- Experience working on projects adhering to military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-1760).
- Experience with software testing, including unit, integration, and system-level testing within a simulation environment.
- Experience leading fast-paced, iterative development cycles.
- Proficient English communication (speaking and writing).
Salary range will be commensurate with experience.
