PAY RANGE: $110,000 - $190,000

Skyline Scientific is seeking a Software Development Engineer with strong C++ programmer experience to support the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of high-performance software systems for classified Intelligence and Defense programs. This role involves working closely with a collaborative engineering team environment, contributing to mission-critical applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. The ideal candidate is comfortable analyzing existing algorithms, improving performance through refactoring and optimization, and working with modern C++ standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain C++ software applications in a Linux environment.
- Analyze and optimize existing algorithms using refactoring, multi-threading, and performance analysis tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support the development of an executable system.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established software development best practices.
- Develop and perform tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Document designs, implementations, and technical decisions clearly and effectively.
- Active TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in writing code using C/C++ and Unix.
- Experience working in a team-based development environment using common tools and processes.
- Ability to analyze and improve the performance of existing algorithms.
- Comfortable developing in a Linux environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing applications using the Qt framework.
- Knowledge of multi-threaded algorithms in C++ on Linux.
- Experience with unit testing and other software testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Open Scene Graph (OSG) and/or osg Earth.
- Experience using Git or similar code management tools.
- Prior experience supporting Intelligence and Defense community systems.
