Job Summary
Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Division (HII‑MT) is seeking an enthusiastic Dev Ops Engineer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career by designing, building, and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline for advanced radar systems. You will work in a collaborative environment with software, hardware, and systems engineers to automate and streamline our software development and deployment processes, contributing to a robust, secure, and efficient infrastructure critical to program success.
Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio – commutable to Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.
Salary: Pay is dependent upon relevant years of experience and education background. Examples of pay ranges:
- Engineer Software 2: $62,790 - $105,000
- Engineer Software 3: $95,000 - $145,000
- Engineer Software 4: $135,000 - $170,000
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using Git Lab.
- Manage the containerization of software applications using Podman and Kubernetes.
- Automate the build, testing, and deployment of software to various environments.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient automation scripts primarily in Python.
- Collaborate with software and systems engineers to ensure a smooth development process.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the development and deployment infrastructure.
- Support the maintenance of software documentation related to the CI/CD process and infrastructure.
- Manage software configuration and version control for all codebase components.
- Bachelors degree in a related field and 2‑9+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Masters degree in a related field and 0‑7+ years of relevant experience, OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 6‑13+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a Dev Ops, Site Reliability, or similar role.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools, specifically Git Lab.
- Hands‑on experience with containerization technologies, including Podman and/or Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, with Python being a minimum requirement.
- Familiarity with C/C++ build processes.
- Experience with Linux or a Real‑Time Operating System (RTOS).
- A strong understanding of software configuration management, infrastructure as code, and automation principles.
- Strong desire to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Minimum Secret clearance required to start.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with the ability to pass enhanced security checks.
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
