Position Overview

We are searching for a talented software engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. The candidate will be expected to develop and integrate high-fidelity models and software solutions into the existing AFSIM Modeling & Simulation framework, using modern Agile software development practices. The role requires expanding and other tools into AFSIM while serving as a full stack developer.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and integrate high-fidelity models and software solutions into the AFSIM framework.
Expand and related tools within AFSIM.
Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to support AFRL, NASIC, DARPA, and other Department of Defense and Intelligence Community projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Minimum of 5 years of M&S development experience.
Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
Minimum of 3 years of C++ and Python3 experience.
Experience following agile development processes.
Experience using tools such as git, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, and Gitlab runners or similar.
Experience developing software for Linux platforms.
(Desired) Experience with full technical stack, including backend framework development, network programming, CI/CD, scientific computing, regression test development, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
(Desired) Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE.
(Desired) Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker.
(Desired) Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, or similar.
(Desired) Familiarity with DoD security practices.
