Job Summary

The Warehouse Shift Manager is responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehoused products, as well as overseeing all other daily warehouse operations. The manager will lead and develop the warehouse team to provide impeccable service to customers, ensure productivity targets are achieved, and keep all warehouse processes running smoothly and promptly. This position focuses on the effective replenishment of products to ensure they are in the appropriate location and readily available for fulfillment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily Operations
  • Manage a team of replenishers to ensure product is located correctly and readily available for fulfillment
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, returns, transfers and loading of warehoused products
  • Oversee inventory control
  • Liaise with customers and transport companies
  • Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
  • Ensure proper security measures are enforced regarding the opening and closing of the warehouse
Personnel Responsibilities
  • Hire, orient and discipline all warehouse employees, including drivers
  • Maintain standards of health and safety according to OSHA guidelines; complete and file necessary paperwork
  • Plan random drug testing, safety and training presentations
  • Conduct annual and periodic employee reviews
Other Duties
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse equipment
  • Ensure efficient layout and space utilization in all areas of the warehouse
  • Assist in routing both beer and wine orders
  • Learn, use and train warehouse employees on all approved warehouse systems and software as appropriate
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office preferred
  • Very outgoing with strong self‑direction
  • Work with minimal supervision; ability to set priorities and multitask
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in warehouse management procedures, including layered inventory
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • This position operates in a professional office environment but requires regular travel and on‑site work in a warehouse. Expected hours are Monday through Friday during the company’s regular business hours, with additional site visits and responsibilities during second and third (night) shifts. Regular, consistent attendance is required. Dress code is business casual; closed‑toe shoes required.

  • Employee is required to stand, balance, walk, climb stairs, sit, use hands to feel and handle objects, tools or controls, including standard office equipment such as computers and phones; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; and have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
