Job Summary
This position works independently or within a team to assemble quality fabricated metal components for furniture to work order specifications in an incentive‑based manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate metal material according to La‑Z‑Boy quality requirements.
- Operate press and maintain machines to maximize program yields.
- Load die and set up the machine, adjusting for each job.
- Keep all moving parts of machine lubricated.
- Operate forklift or pallet jack to relocate materials, supplies, and parts as needed.
- Inspect work visually for defects according to quality standards.
- Properly clean and maintain equipment.
- Operate equipment safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Rework non‑conforming parts as necessary.
- Control quality and waste.
- Demonstrate teamwork and motivation for job requirements.
- Follow health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to read complex print specifications.
- Use and understand measuring tools (micrometer, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills.
- Obtain PIV license.
- Achieve performance standards.
- Excellent attendance; 3 points or less.
- No safety written warnings.
- Bilingual.
