The Mono Twist General Operator performs finishing and packaging functions necessary to meet production plans and customer requirements. This role operates Reiter equipment, inspects finished yarn, prepares tubes for shipment, and ensures all products meet Ten Cate quality standards.
The General Operator is also responsible for maintaining a clean work area and following all company safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Unload buggies into the Reiter several times throughout the shift.
- String the Reiter while keeping all yarn ends together.
- Tie and doff yarn from each Reiter and place completed tubes onto the belt.
- Unload the belt and inspect every tube for quality.
- Place an “Inspected By” sticker inside each approved tube.
- Complete a final quality review of all packaged yarn.
- Ensure every tube meets Ten Cate standards and contains the required product and inspection labels.
- Stack finished belt tubes neatly and securely on skids.
- Splice partial yarn tubes; knots are not permitted in mono yarn.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow production schedules, operating procedures, and safety requirements.
- Report product defects, equipment concerns, and safety hazards to the Shift Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least six months of continuous manufacturing experience required.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn production equipment.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
- Previous production, textile, yarn, or machine-operator experience preferred.
- Basic production-equipment operation.
- Product inspection and quality control.
- Yarn handling, splicing, and packaging.
- Ability to identify labeling or product-quality issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting awareness.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Safety awareness and adherence to established procedures.
- Teamwork, reliability, and consistent productivity.
This position operates onsite in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facility. Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.
Physical Demands- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull parts and containers.
