Job purpose
The Testing Technician is responsible for conducting tests on products, analyzing results, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Duties and responsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Carries out routine calculations and prepares documentation that shows the results for test performed.
- Performs other duties assigned by Laboratory Management.
- Assures optimum control of quality so that raw material and/or finished products conform to existing requirements, standard operation procedures, and governmental regulations and adheres to all Quality Systems Requirements (QSR) and ISO standards.
- Execute analyses for raw materials, in-process sample and finish products to comply with current procedures and customer specifications.
- Basic knowledge on quality testing principles, theories, practices and methodology.
- Completes record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition for entry into logbooks or computer systems (i.e. S4/HANA).
- Responsible to ensure adequate systematic control of nonconforming product.
- Participates on special requests for product testing, such as qualification protocols.
- Ensures proper safety and environmental procedures and practices are utilized.
- Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (for example, ISO 9001, ISO
14001 & OSHAS
18001). - Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills include:
- Good interpersonal relations and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, S4/HANA and other computer software recommended.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in quality processes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in an FDA regulated environment preferred (21 CFR Part 211 and 211, 21 Part 820, ICH Q7 and/or 21 CFR Part
4). - Basic wet chemistry techniques related to qualitative and quantitative.
- Must be flexible with a variety of working situations and schedules.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a related field or vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a related field.
- OSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
This position may require minimal travel. This position requires working evenings and weekends.
Physical requirementsThis position may require sitting at a desk/table for extended periods of time.
