Job DescriptionPrimary
Purpose:
Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Maintain accurate discipline records for the campus.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass local clerical test
- Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use fax machine, copy machine
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing tasks
- Secretarial experience, preferably in public education
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collect and enter accurate attendance data into SIS (Student Information System) software on a daily basis for accurate PEIMS reporting.
- Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
- Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated administrators and district truancy clerk.
- Follow established district processes and procedures for students with excessive (excused/unexcused) absences.
- Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, parent notes, doctor notes, and other documents as required following established procedures.
- Perform daily attendance procedures and meet established timelines as determined by district PEIMS personnel.
- Support teachers in taking attendance in the district's SIS (Student Information System) software.
- Stay abreast of compulsory attendance laws.
- Stay abreast of the annual version of the SAAH (Student Attendance Accounting Handbook).
- Enter student discipline information into SIS and verify accuracy for PEIMS reporting.
- Produce and distribute PEIMS discipline reports to appropriate campus staff.
- Attend any/all meetings and trainings as they pertain to student information system software and/or PEIMS.
- Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for assigned administrator(s).
- Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Provide appropriate clerical support to assigned administrator.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Attendance is an essential job function.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $13.80 to $16.56 Per Hour
