Position: Campus Testing /504 Coordinator - DHS

Job Title

To coordinate the administration, training, and reporting of all state-mandated, college/career readiness, and national assessment programs, including SAT, PSAT, ASVAB, STAAR End-of-Course (EOC), TSIA, TELPAS, ACT, and AP Testing, as designated by the district; to support district-based assessments; to provide district standardized reports to campus administration regarding assessment data; and to support campus administration and staff in the use of data to inform decision making.

To support district and campus 504 programs and ensure provision of needed services. Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local requirements.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) from accredited university

Minimum of three years of experience teaching

Leadership experience, organizational skills, and communication abilities

Valid Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills

Exceptional organizational skills

Detail Oriented

Knowledge and experience using educational data and information software systems

Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 federal law

Ability to communicate technical and complex assessment data and concepts to varied audiences, including school administrators, teachers, parents, and students

Ability to work with all staff effectively in a Professional Learning Community

Ability to maintain a professional, calm, and service-oriented demeanor during stressful situations

Experience

Five years of teaching experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Member of Campus Leadership Team.

Facilitate the appropriate, accurate, and ethical administration of standardized assessment activities.

Train campus staff to administer appropriately the instruments used in state and district testing activities.

Collaborate with district level departments in the training and reporting involved with the state-developed STAAR assessments specific to special populations to ensure requirements are met for proper test administration and results reporting.

Coordinate the distribution and return of testing materials as required

Serve as the primary contact at the campus level for all matters related to test security and confidentiality. Follows state and district rules and guidelines for the resolution of issues in these areas.

Read all testing coordinator directions and applicable manuals governing the administration of the student assessment program.

Work positively towards meeting identified district and campus improvement goals

Communicate effectively and regularly with a variety of teams at the campus and district level.

Collaborate with the Campus Leadership Team to coordinate the annual testing calendar at the campus level.

Participate in on-going training and development activities offered by the district.

Collaborate with Campus Leadership Team to schedule tutorials and other interventions for students as needed.

Monitor campus compliance with assessment related individual accountability systems such as the Student Success Initiative (SSI), Individual Graduation Committee's (IGC) and/or Individual Graduation Review's (IGR).

Maintain accuracy of student testing records in online state assessment systems

Coordinate campus administration of SAT, PSAT, ASVAB, STAAR End-of-Course (EOC), TSIA, TELPAS, ACT, and AP Testing in accordance with district, state, and test-provider requirements.

Develop and communicate assessment-specific testing plans, schedules, room assignments, staffing assignments, student rosters, and make-up testing procedures for each applicable testing program.

Ensure eligible students receive approved testing accommodations and designated supports; verify accommodation information, testing group assignments, and required documentation prior to each administration.

Train test administrators, proctors, and other campus staff on assessment-specific procedures, security requirements, allowable materials, accommodations, technology expectations, and incident-reporting procedures.

Coordinate receipt, inventory, secure storage, distribution, collection, return, and/or destruction of secure and non-secure testing materials in accordance with applicable requirements.

Verify student registration, demographic information, eligibility, testing status, and completion requirements for applicable assessment programs; coordinate corrections and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Coordinate testing for absent students, make-up administrations, retests, and special administrations as required, including communication with students, parents, counselors, teachers, and campus administration.

Maintain accurate assessment documentation and testing records; support score reporting, distribution of results, data review, and follow-up actions associated with each testing program.

Monitor student schedules to ensure identified students receive appropriate interventions. Monitor students receiving 504 assistance to assure interventions are appropriate.
