POSITION SUMMARY
The LPG, Condensate, and Water Vacuum Transport Drivers operate a variety of tractor/tank truck combinations and all related pumping and mechanical devices used for transporting, loading, and unloading products, materials, and equipment. This role requires performing truck safety inspections, verifying product loading, and preparing operational and DOT forms and records.
JOB FUNCTIONS ANDKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform truck safety inspections, verify product loading, and prepare operational and DOT forms and records
- Utilize the required Electronic Logging Device (ELD) for daily logging and dispatch
- Operate tractor/tank truck combinations and associated devices for transporting, loading, and unloading
- Execute scheduled deliveries by route as specified by dispatchers
- Adhere to all company and DOT safety policies and procedures
- Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading transport using mechanical devices, following approved procedures
- Determine vehicle safety before departure through personal inspections per company criteria
- Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; willing to work up to DOT maximum hours; may be assigned to other locations requiring overnight stays
- Assist with training of new drivers and retraining returning drivers
- Apply knowledge of safe material handling while driving, loading, unloading, etc.
- Show initiative and ability to work with limited supervision, responding to emergencies appropriately
- Maintain preventive maintenance knowledge and perform routine DOT inspections for tractors and trailers
- Demonstrate communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for safe interactions with customers and employees
- Make occasional overnight stays for certain trips
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Valid, current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements (X)
- Minimum one (1) year of Over the Road (OTR) tanker experience
- Safe driving record
- Meeting all requirements for drivers in Part 391 (FMCSA)
- Proven ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Regular and reliable attendance
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; equivalent education, CDL qualifications, and experience may be considered
- Physical and mental ability to operate tractor/trailer and associated equipment
- Operate in extreme weather or adverse conditions inside and outside cab
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Perform rigorous tasks including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity
- Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 75 pounds to waist height
