We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join The Shores Resort and Spa Accounting Team. The right candidate will be an organized self-starter, innovative and have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have thorough knowledge of accounting and computer operations and be able to analyze and resolve issues in all aspects of accounting and finance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the accounting department.
- Ensure that all work is completed in an accurate, efficient and professional manner.
- Handle all responsibilities of Payroll, General Cashier, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Verify the coding of accounts payable invoices.
- Review status of accounts receivables on a regular basis.
- Review payroll and daily deposits for accuracy on a regular basis.
- Communicate with other department heads to resolve any concerns or issues.
- Handle inquiries and resolve guests’ challenges to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
- Prepare all journal entries for closing each accounting period; reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a daily basis.
- Assist in inventory counts each month and quarter as needed.
- Prepare and file all taxes as required by state, county and local laws.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Act as Controller in his absence and run an efficient and organized accounting department.
- Responsible for the General Cashier Vault and ensuring security and accuracy.
- Assist the Controller with any audits conducted by internal, external or government auditors.
- Perform any and all other jobs assigned by the Controller and the Management staff of the hotel.
- Knowledge of Opera preferred.
College educational level preferred. Prior experience in a related field is required.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCertifications and/or licenses in a related field are preferred.
Compensation$23.00 – $30.00 per hour (actual compensation packages are based on skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location; may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations).
